A jewel of Persian heritage, our Negin saffron is grown on the high plateaus of Khorasan, a region renowned for saffron cultivation in Iran. This exceptional grade is distinguished by its long, whole threads of vivid, deep red, selected for their purity, aromatic intensity and remarkable colouring power.
Naturally rich in crocin, picrocrocin and safranal, it reveals a complex floral aroma, a delicate bitterness and the golden colour so characteristic of saffron. Presented in a glossy red ceramic jar inspired by the floral world, it celebrates both the richness of an ancient terroir and the finesse of craftsmanship.
Each jar contains 4 capsules of 0,25 g, for a total of 1 g of saffron.
Just a few threads are enough to give dishes a golden colour and the full aromatic richness of saffron. To bring out their aromas fully, let them infuse for a few minutes in a little warm water or other liquid before adding them to your recipe.
It enhances rice dishes, fish, sauces and slow-cooked dishes alike, while also lending a refined note to desserts and pastries. Use sparingly: its aromatic intensity means a very small amount is enough to appreciate its full richness.
On the high plateaus of Khorasan, Iran, Crocus sativus flourishes in an arid climate and mineral-rich soils. At dawn, before sunrise, the flowers are carefully picked by hand to preserve their freshness and aromatic intensity.
The stigmas are then separated by hand with the utmost precision. Only the longest, whole, intensely red threads are selected for Negin grade. This meticulous work, carried out entirely by hand, perpetuates a craft deeply rooted in Khorasan’s heritage.
