Since 2018
The Company
Fleur de sel harvested by hand, presented in a handmade ceramic pot. A simple commitment to quality, from the salt pan to the table.
The salt pans
Where it began
The name comes from the salt pans and the landscapes entirely covered in salt. The Maison was born in 2018 from a journey through the Atlas Mountains and an encounter with a salt harvester who gathered his fleur de sel by hand.
It took two years to find and select artisan salt harvesters able to meet this standard, first in France and then elsewhere.
One standard, three rules
Harvested by hand with a fleur de sel rake. Dried naturally in the sun. No additives, no processing, without exception, wherever it comes from.
It is the quality of the harvest that makes additions unnecessary: once the salt is gathered, nothing more is needed.
The harvest
It all begins with the hand
The fleur de sel rake is a large wooden rake that gathers crystals from the water’s surface without breaking them. It is the only tool used, and it has not changed for centuries.
This is a craft passed down from generation to generation. None of it can be industrialised, and the weather matters as much as technique, just as it does for a fine wine.
The pot
Artisan ceramics made in Portugal
The pot is shaped by Portuguese ceramic artisans, in a country renowned worldwide for the quality of its ceramics. Its form is inspired by the round cactus in the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech.
With a velvety finish and a natural cork stopper that allows the salt to breathe, it is made to grace the table for years to come.
The workshop
The pot, one piece at a time
Each pot is shaped, trimmed, glazed and then decorated by hand by our ceramic artisans in Portugal, before being filled with fleur de sel.
